Spent the night listening to live jazz on the Sunshine Coast instead of staring at a screen for once. The musicians were the real deal — proper talent, not just someone with a saxophone and a dream. I did my best to look like I understood the double bass solo, which is a skill in itself. Turns out you don’t need to know a thing about jazz to know when a night’s gone right. Good music, good company, not a spreadsheet in sight. That’s a rare kind of night, and I’ll take it.
